About Us
What this site is
UK Take-Home Pay Calculator is a small, independent website that answers one question properly: what will actually land in my bank account? Enter a salary — yearly, monthly, weekly, daily or hourly — and it applies the published 2026/27 income tax bands for England, Wales & Northern Ireland or Scotland, employee National Insurance, an optional salary-sacrifice pension contribution, and student loan repayments, and shows the full breakdown.
Our how-to-calculate guide shows every step and rate openly, because you should never have to trust a black box with your own pay.
Honest about estimates
A general calculator cannot know your tax code, your pay pattern or your other deductions, so we label our results as estimates and explain exactly what is assumed: the standard 1257L tax code, even pay across the year, pension contributions made by salary sacrifice, and National Insurance annualised from the usual thresholds. Where the real world differs — a different tax code, benefits in kind, a net-pay pension scheme — our guide and FAQs say so plainly rather than pretending to a false precision.
Privacy by design
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to our servers, not stored in a database, and not shared with anyone. Your salary is personal, and our tool is built to keep it that way.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use. We may earn a small commission when visitors buy books through Amazon links on our pages, at no extra cost to the buyer. That is the site's only income, and it never influences the calculator's results. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
What this site is not
We are not accountants, tax advisors or lawyers, and this site is not a payroll service. The calculator provides estimates for general information only. For decisions about your own tax, pension or employment contract, a qualified professional — or HMRC's own guidance — is always the final word.
